Skevi Brodie [Biography]

Skevi Brodie

Born in London, Skevi is a self-taught artist working primarily with resin, producing unique and colourful contemporary creations.

She first started painting using acrylics when she managed a trading system for an investment bank in New York in 2000. Skevi painted to unwind and relieve the stresses of the day reflecting in her paintings her mood and emotions.

Skevi finds inspiration from nature and her love for the ocean. She loves creating artwork putting together colour palettes that go hand in hand with their surroundings. Her most recent acrylic pieces were works of striking geometric design.

After being introduced to resin as a gloss varnish for artwork Skevi looked into resin and realised that its potential was greater than just a varnish. By mixing her mediums into the resin and understanding how different mediums behave in the resin, she is able to create her unique works of art, each piece alive with movement and depth, always a talking piece.

After 13 years in Singapore and seeing many blank walls, Skevi felt inspired to produce colourful pieces. “There are so many white walls and empty spaces All too often today people decorate their rooms with a single colour. Every room needs a little extra colour to break the monotone. Let the vibrancy transform your space and lift your spirit.”

Her works have also raised a significant amount of money for a variety of charities, via auction, such as Kick Sarcoma and Kampuchea Balopp, a non-profit organisation in Cambodia, both of which Skevi continues to support. Skevi relocated to the UK in the summer of 2017 where she continues to follow her passion of painting and pushing the boundaries of resin.

She has also dedicated her time to produce beautiful statement piece contemporary art tables
